Job Description – Senior Nursery Practitioner
We are looking for a level three qualified practitioner with at least 3 years experience to join our small team. they will be responsible for opening and closing the nursery on their set shifts and step into a more managerial role as and when needed. We’d like someone with a fun and enthusiastic character and a passion for providing fun and exciting learning opportunities for children aged 12months to 4years.

To promote and support the development of an innovative approach to children’s learning based on a model that includes a respectful image of children as competent and capable, in an inclusive environment. To also nurture and support the team.
Key Areas
- To provide a stimulating, safe, caring and inclusive environment. To ensure all children’s social and emotional and physical well–being.
- Responsible for opening and closing the nursery on set shifts.
- To support children in all 7 areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage through stimulating and fun activities planned around the children’s individual interests.
- To develop strong working relationships with parents as partners in their child’s development.
- To write observations and reports (including 2-year-old progress checks), these should be kept up to date to ensure any concerns are highlighted and parents are informed of their child’s progress.
- To liaise with colleagues to plan and implement developmental programs for the children.
- To proactively promote an inclusive environment in the setting welcoming all children and ensuring no child is discriminated on the grounds of disability, race, gender or cultural background.
- To facilitate a creative and innovative range of play and learning experiences for children, making full use of the indoor and outdoor environment throughout the year.
- To ensure that all Safeguarding Children Board procedures relating to child protection are adhered to as necessary and have a valid DBS.
- To work alongside and support trainees, students and volunteers.
- To attend monthly staff meetings as necessary.
Responsible to: Nursery Manager
Hours of work: Flexible to the nursery’s needs.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £27,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
