The Role
Are you passionate about working with children and making a difference in their lives? Develop a new career as a childminder and run your own business benefiting from the flexibility to work around the needs of your own family. You can choose the hours you work, where you spend your days and the income you require.
Qualifications and Experience
If you are caring, practical and organised and enjoy working with children, the Early Years Team at B&NES can support you every step of the way without prior qualifications. We have a free ‘Introduction to Childminding’ course which guides you through every step to become registered with Ofsted, and then we provide ongoing tailored support as you develop your knowledge.
You must be at least 18 years-old, legally able to work in the UK and there are flexible registration options about where you can set-up your business (i.e. from home or non-domestic premises). You should be fit and healthy and have sufficient understanding of the English language to care for children, keep records and liaise with parents/carers and other professionals.
We will assist you as you plan and build your new business, providing information on start-up costs and additional statutory training, as well as helping you to build a sustainable business that delivers high quality early education and care.
